Why should I attend?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidenced-based treatment for borderline personality disorder and suicidality. Although it was developed as a comprehensive service, the treatment and skill sets are proven to be effective in working with a variety of clients who are challenged with high emotional sensitivity.
This 6-hour, interactive, virtual learning opportunity starts with an overview of DBT core principles and therapeutic structure. Treatment strategies include improving clients' safety and emotional/behavioral control.
The afternoon focuses on understanding and practicing a DBT-specific skills within the Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, and Distress Tolerance modules.

Ideal participants include therapists, case managers, peer staff, and medical providers.
The course is approved for 6 CEUs by the KS BSRB and the Missouri State Committee for Social Workers.
The workshop meets the MO requirement for 2 CEUs of Suicide Prevention.
